Il presunto cable - pubblicato del quotidiano norvegese Aftenposten - risalirebbe al 21 dicembre 2007. Il documento riporta un commento del capo dell'Intelligence bielorusso Yuriy Zhadobin – trasmesso a Washington dall’ambasciata americana in Minsk – che lamenterebbe le scarse risorse economiche da allocare alla ricerca sul paranormale.

L'interesse per gli UFO è molto attuale, negli scenari di guerra futura, satelliti spia, droni et similia - che sono già una realtà - rientrano perfettamente nella categoria degli unidentified flying object senza per forza arrivare da un altro pianeta.

Per il momento le notizie sono abbastanza deludenti...

Utter disappointment took everyone by surprise when we all thought that the veil would be pulled and what we got was a simple statement that the Russian government no longer investigates UFO reports. BKGB Chairman Yuriy Zhadobin on why his organization no longer investigates paranormal phenomena:

“Unlike during the USSR, the department is not engaged in studying paranormal phenomena. [Back then,] we had greater means and opportunities which we could spend on anything and everything. Today the situation is different. Then, when society was excited by something, it entered our sphere of interest. But when it comes to healers, UFOs and such, we just can´t deal with them any more.”

That’s it. There’s no conclusive evidence of extraterrestrial knowledge or phenomena even. When most people say UFO the first thought that comes to mind is an extraterrestrial craft, but in all honesty, very few can be suspected of that. UFO simply means that something is at the moment an ‘unidentified flying object’. Many times it ends up being something completely normal that was just out of place like a large group of balloons or a new military craft being tested. Just the mention of a UFO or UFO investigations in any sort of government files would not be surprising. We already know that the Air Force and other military branches throughout the world investigate claims simply because they want to find out if there is a threat to their airspace or if an enemy country is spying on them. That’s all. Most of the time, a rational person would not automatically suspect a UFO as being extraterrestrial in nature.
